Manually Creating a Snapshot
This page describes how to manually create a snapshot of a virtual machine.
Note
- When creating a snapshot that includes memory, the virtual machine will be paused and unavailable until the memory image has been taken.
- The maximum number of snapshots, including those created automatically by the system, is 30 per virtual machine.
- For issues with too many snapshots and deleting snapshots, see here .
Procedure
1. Open the target virtual machine
From the list of virtual machines in HOME, open the virtual machine for which you want to create a snapshot.
2. Create a snapshot
Click “Snapshot” in the top right of the details screen, or open the “Snapshots” tab and click the button below.
- New Snapshot with memory: Creates a snapshot of the disk (storage) and memory (RAM). Please note that when creating a snapshot that includes memory, the virtual machine will be paused and unavailable.
- New Snapshot: Creates a snapshot of the disk (storage). This is a standard snapshot, just like the “Snapshot” in the upper right corner of the screen.
A snapshot of the virtual machine is created in the Snapshots tab.
