Applying Patches
*The functions on this page are applicable to the HRPC Dedicated resource plan.
This system automatically checks for patch updates and displays the number of patches that have not been applied.
The process for applying a patch consists of the following steps:
- Installing patches from the pool
- Restart the master
- Reboot the remaining hosts
When installing a patch from the pool, the host will be in a state where it is waiting to be rebooted, so you must manually reboot the hosts, starting with the master, to enable the application of the patches. Since the host cannot be rebooted while the virtual machines under it are running, they must be migrated to another host.
Users are responsible for installing regular updates.
You can check the patch updates on the screen below.
- Pools list and Patches tab
- Host List and Patches tab
Note
- When applying a patch, it may be necessary to reboot the host. Please read the precautions and procedures for rebooting the host carefully beforehand.
- Installing a patch does not upgrade your version of Xen.
Procedure
1. Open the pool you are using
Select “Pools” from the “HOME” menu to display your pool, then click on its name.

2. Install the patch
Open the “Patches” tab and click “Install pool patches”. All patches under the pool will be installed.

3. Reboot the host for the patches to take effect
When a mark appears next to the host, as shown in the image on the left, the host must be rebooted for the patch to take effect.
Please see this page for information on rebooting your host . Once the host reboot is complete, the patch application will take effect.
