Deleting a Virtual Machine

This page explains how to delete unnecessary virtual machines from the Xen Orchestrator management screen.

Note

  • When you delete a virtual machine, the virtual machine and all disks associated with it are deleted.
    • Please be careful when deleting data as once deleted it cannot be restored.
  • Please check the “Tasks” menu and perform the task when no backup processing is running.
    • Since backup tasks will not be executed on servers that have been shut down, deleting them after about an hour of normal operation will ensure that they are not currently processing any tasks.
  • Deleting a virtual machine does not delete the backup images stored in the backup NFS storage.
