Cloud Gateway Installation

This page explains how to install a cloud gateway (a router provided by our company).
A cloud gateway must be installed at each location.

Installation Method

1. Without connecting the power cable, connect the “GE0” port of the cloud gateway to the ONU.
2. Connect the cloud gateway’s “GE1 – Port 1” to the company network. Make sure the switch is in a state where the link is up .
3. Connect the power cable.
4. After a few minutes, check that the “PPP” light is on.

Once the cloud gateway is installed, it will be automatically connected in a few minutes.

When branching an optical line terminal (ONU)

Private Connect recommends that you prepare a dedicated FLET’S Hikari Next line if possible. However, if you need to connect to an existing line due to aggregation or line reasons, you can use them separately using the method below. (*However, please read carefully the section on the product specifications page that says, “Although it is recommended to use the FLET’S line exclusively, what will happen if you use it for both purposes?” )

When branching an ONU to connect to a cloud gateway, connect a switching hub to the ONU.

*If the existing L2 switch supports VLAN, you can also create and branch ONU segments.
